ETSBOA Concert Band Festival - April 2

Congratulations to the band!

Two judges gave them a "1" and one judge gave them a "2". They received a "1" for sight reading.

Their score was an "overall 1"!  This means that they qualified to attend State Concert Festival next year.

Great job!!!

Parent Meeting
There will be a parent meeting on Tuesday, August 12th at 7:00pm in the band room. Mr. Thomas will have information regarding the upcoming season and will answer questions from parents. Samples of all of the sportswear, blankets, car magnets, etc. will be shown.

New Official Band T-shirts
Many, many thanks to Marilyn and Donald Spoon for purchasing new t-shirts for every band member. They are completed and they look sharp! Make sure to pick yours up on Thursday in order to wear it on Friday for registration. All band members are to wear the new shirt for registration activities.

Practice and Photos
Practices resume on Tuesday, August 5th, 6-8pm. Sectional pictures for the football programs will be taken that evening. Please make every effort to be present. Bring marching shoes, socks, and gloves for the photo.

First Football Game
Adults
who volunteer in the concession stands this year will earn $1 per hour credit to their son or daughter's band account. It may not sound like much, but every little bit adds up toward paying for band camp next year. (Credits for working concessions discontinued at end of 2009-2009 school year).

Sad News for the Band Family
Mary Bobo passed away December 28th. The family will receive friends at the Church of Christ from 6-8pm on Tuesday, December 30th.

Ricke Hester will be in the band room after school to take band photos. All band and flag corps students need to have their photos taken so we can make the 2008-2009 band composite picture.

The first payment ($75) was due on March 31st. The second payment ($75) is due on April 30th. (Balance of $50 due on the first day of full band week)

May 2 - Coke Case Distribution
May 2 - Band Party
The party will be at First Presbyterian from 3:30-5:30. This event is for marching band, concert band and flag corps members only. There will be volleyball, 4 square, walking track, basketball and more, plus drinks, chips and dessert. Admission: canned goods for donation to local food bank. May 3 - Spring Concert
A reception for new band members immediately follows the concert. All current band students are requested to bring a two liter bottle of soda/lemonade/tea.
May 5 - Parent Meeting, 7:00pm in the band room
All parents of flag corps, marching and concert band students are invited. Incoming freshman and their parents are encouraged to attend.

May 8 - Carowinds Trip
The band will be taking a fun trip to Carowinds Theme Park. This is not a required trip. The cost for this trip, not including meals, is $85.00 per student. This needs to be paid in full by Wednesday, April 29th. Please make all checks payable to Morristown West High Band Boosters.
May 12 - Annual Senior Dinner
Senior band students dine with Mr. Thomas at Little Dutch. Details in the band room.

May 20 - Last Full Day of School

May 22 - Grade Card Day & Graduation

Car Wash
